Special Projects Assistant



Responsibilities:

•Coordinate roster and service/philanthropy reporting and management for fraternity/sorority chapters in cooperation with the Student Activities Office Assistant

•Communicate with chapters regarding chapter reporting to ensure deadlines are met

•Work with the Student Activities graphic designer to ensure website updates for Greek Life

•Assist in the creation and coordination of the “Greek Voices” semesterly newsletter with the Student Activities graphic designer

•Assist in planning of the Michigan Tech Leadership Symposium, Fall New Member Orientation Event, Greek Leadership Summit, and other Greek Life and Leadership programming

•Help with organization of the Values Integration Awards Program including application collection, interview planning, and chapter education

•Assist in the collection of data/information regarding Fall recruitment for both the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils

•Assist the Assistant Director for Greek Life and Leadership with general responsibilities related to the position

•Assist other Student Activities professionals with Student Activities related responsibilities

•Provide support for general Student Activities events including but not limited to the Community Expo, Student Involvement Fair, and Make a Difference Day, among others

•Provide general office assistance such as answering the phone, answering questions and greeting visitors

•Represent Student Activities and Michigan Tech in a professional manner

•Other duties as assigned

We are looking for ENTHUSIASTIC students to serve as Student ambassadors for MTU. This is a part time position, where you will be calling alumni and friends of MTU to update their address information, employer information, catching them up on new things here on campus, and MOST IMPORTANTLY asking them to support the University financially.

You must be a second semester student or higher

Calling Sessions are as follows...

Monday-Thursday 6-10p.m.

Saturdays 1-4p.m. and 4-7p.m.



All employees are required to work (2) two, four hour shifts a week and two weekend days each month. However, we are VERY flexible when it comes to night exams.



All calling is done from the Citizens Bank Building which is located in Hancock. Car pooling is always an option, but not a guarantee for those students without a vehicle.
